License Key Activation Guide
for Visual GLCD
Please, download the Visual GLCD Software or use a copy from our product CD. Install it on the com-
puter you are going to use for programming. You can use this software free of charge as long as your
applications don’t use more than 8 objects. In order to get an unlimited version, it is necessary to pur-
chase the license key.
The license key is only valid on the computer from which you have sent your license key request and
cannot be used otherwise.
How to get the license key?

Start up your new program and click on the

Q. What does the demo limit message mean?
This message warns you that you have tried to use
more than 8 objects in your application. This is the
only disadvantage of the limited version compared
to the registered version of the Visual GLCD.
Q. What is the license key?
The license key is a small program which
removes the demo limit from your software. It
comes as a link in an e-mail that you receive upon
sending a license key request to your distributor.
One click on this link will provide you with a small
application which is actually the license key.
Q. Do I have to have the license key?
Yes you do, if you want to design GUI applica-
tions that use more than 8 objects.
Q. Do I have to keep my license key safe?
Yes, because the same key is used to unlock
any new version of the Visual GLCD down-
loaded from the Mikroelektronika’s web page.
Q. I have lost my key. What am I supposed to do?
Please send request for another license key to
your distributor. You will get it free of charge.
Q. Do I have to pay for upgrade?
No, all upgrades are free of charge until the
product lifetime expires.
Q. I have just bought a new PC and I want to
keep on using my Visual GLCD on it. What am I
supposed to do?
You just have to send a new license key
request to your distributor and you will get
it free of charge.
Q. Do I have to pay for the license key?
Yes, because the only way to remove the demo
limit from your software is to buy the license key.
Q. Can I get more than one license key?
We usually provide one license key per purchase,
but we can also provide you with another one in
case you need it for either home or office PC.
Q. What is the product ID number?
The product ID number is a number which repre-
sents the unique description of your PC on the
basis of which we generate your license key.
Q. Is it possible to get the license key along with
the Visual GLCD or on the product CD?
No, it’s not. The only way to get it is to contact
your distributor and send the license key request.
Q. The last five digits of the product key change
every time I generate the license key request.
These digits represent the time when you gener-
ate your license key request. They always change.
Q. What will happen with my Visual GLCD if I
reinstall my operating system?
You have to redownload the software and ask
your distributor for a new license key after rein-
stalling the operating system. You will get it free
of charge.
Q. How much do you charge for technical
support assistance?
Our technical support assistance is free of
charge.
Q. I have formatted my hard disc. What am I
supposed to do?
You have to ask your distributor for a new
license key after formatting your hard disc. It is
free of charge.
Q. Do I have to provide a new license key after
upgrading my Visual GLCD?
No, the license key you already have will be
valid unless stated otherwise on the Visual
GLCD’s download page.
Q. It has been 24 hours since I sent my request
and I’ve got no answer so far.
Over the last couple of years there has been a
growing problem with e-mail providers identifying
valid e-mails as spams. Check your spam folder to
see if our e-mail has been incorrectly classified. It
is also advisable to white list all e-mails from our
domain @mikroe.com because if our first e-mail
was incorrectly classified and lost, there is a strong
possibility that all subsequent e-mails will also be
incorrectly classified. So, if you don’t receive an e-
mail from us within 24 hours, please email us
again at office@mikroe.com.
Q. Which distributor should I choose when
requesting the license key?
The license key request should be sent to the
same distributor you have ordered your Visual
GLCD from.
Q. I have registered my Visual GLCD but I’m still
getting the demo limit warning, what am I sup-
posed to do?
Uninstall the present version of your Visual GLCD
and download and install the latest version.
Q. My anti-virus software prevents the license key
from accessing the registration files of Visual GLCD:
You should first disable your anti-virus software
and rerun the license key.
Q. I have no internet connection on my PC, how
can I register my visual GLCD?
You just have to copy the text from the

all the information required in the registration
form. In this way it will be easier for us to find you
in our database, and you will get your license
