MATERIALS NEEDED
Small amounts (less than 1 skein) of
worsted weight yarn in
LIME GREEN,
TOFFEE, YELLOW, DARK BROWN,
BRIGHT BLUE, ORANGE, PURPLE
AND
RED.
Stitch marker
Size F crochet hook
(8) 6-mm black safety eyes (2 per turtle)
Fiberfill stuffing
Large tapestry needle
Scissors

HEAD AND BODY
With
LIME GREEN
Rnd 1:
Make magic ring (mr), 6 sc in ring
(6 sts).
[Place marker in first st for beg of Rnd; move
marker up as each Rnd is completed.]
Rnd 2:
2 sc in each st around (12 sts).
Rnd 3:
*2 sc in next st, sc in next st; rep
from * around (18 sts).
Rnds 4-6:
Sc in each st around (18 sts).
[Switch to
MASK COLOR
(blue, red, orange or purple)
at the end of Rnd 6.]
Rnds 7-8:
Sc in each st around (18 sts).
[Switch to
LIME GREEN
at the end of Rnd 8.]
Rnds 9-10:
Sc in each st around (18 sts).
[Insert 6-mm eyes in between Rnds 7-8, 4 sts apart.
Fasten securely.]
Rnd 11:
*Invdc over next 2 sts; rep
from * around (9 sts).
[Stuff head firmly.]
Rnd 12:
*2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts;
rep from * around (12 sts).
Rnds 13-16:
Sc in each st around (12 sts).
Rnd 17:
*Invdc over next 2 sts; rep from *
around (6 sts).
[Fasten off. Stuff body firmly, close up
hole and weave in ends.]
TUMMY PATCH
With
YELLOW
Rnd 1:
Make magic ring (mr), 6 sc in ring. Sc
in first st of the rnd to complete a ring (7 sts).
[Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew to front of
tummy, weave in ends.]
STITCHES & TECHNIQUES
Ch: Chain
Sc: Single crochet
Sl: Slip stitch
Invdc: Invisible decrease (similar to sc2tog,
but uses only front loops of the stitches)
Mr: make magic ring (You can [ch 2, 6 sc in
2nd ch from hook] if you aren’t comfortable
with the magic ring, but I’d really recom-
mend giving it a try!)
TURTLE SHELL
With
TOFFEE
Rnd 1:
Make magic ring
(mr), 6 sc in ring (6 sts).
Rnd 2:
*2 sc in next st, sc in next st;
rep from * around (9 sts).
Rnds 3-4: Sc in each st around.
[Fasten off. Stuff
shell and sew to back of body. Weave in ends. Using
BROWN,
tie a length of yarn around the body and knot in front.]

ARMS & LEGS
With
LIME GREEN
Leaving a longish starting tail, ch 4. Sl st in the
3rd ch from the hook.
[Fasten off (with a knot) and
weave in ends. Using the starting tail, sew to sides of body
for arms, bottom of body for legs. Weave in ends.]
