A trio of Vulcan B.1s in the guise that the type first entered frontline service during 1957. From then, Avro’s
mighty delta served until the K.2 tankers of 50 Squadron were paid off in March 1984. After that, the Vulcan
enjoyed eight years displaying to appreciative audiences all over Britain until September 1992, when the
RAF called it a day. The Vulcan to the Sky Trust determined that the type still had life in it, this time as a
civilian: this special publication tells the story of that incredible achievement.
