Worth knowing: For many decades, the baggage car
served as an ‘office’ for train personnel – the service
compartment and, in early eras, the raised cab where the
guard kept watch over the train, were located here. We
review the history of the baggage car in H0 across four eras.

Club members,
Minitrix is currently receiving very positive feedback for its rolling stock
and laser-cut construction kits at many exhibitions: The standard of realism
achieved by the N-gauge models of today has never been higher. With this in
mind, we talked to Product Manager Claus Ballsieper about the Minitrix 2015
range and the innovations that are driving Minitrix forwards. In addition,
experienced experts from N-gauge clubs offer their perspective on how
technology is progressing. The model section is rounded out with the heading
“Technology in Detail”, which focuses this time on H0 baggage cars –
specifically on those from eras I to IV.
Club members on the first of the two Club trips in 2015 to Gotthard and Furka
in Switzerland, accompanied by H0 Product Manager Karl-Heinz Grässle,
experienced just how inspiring prototypes can be. A jury picked the best photo
and we are featuring it – framed by a selection of additional snapshots. We are
also particularly delighted to introduce the new Trix round table in the German
village of Unterlüss, and to unveil two layout construction projects: the young-
sters at N-Bahn Freunde München e.V. report on their projects and present
their modules, which have already been admired at exhibitions. And layout
builders from the Authentic Modellbau Club report how they converted a
dilapidated layout section into a turning module that has attracted many smiles
at international exhibitions.
Finally, in the service section, you can find information about the exclusive
range reserved for Club members in the Club area on the Internet. If you want
to look back at the IMA and Märklin Days 2015 – you can find the latest photos

EXHIBITIONS IN OCTOBER/NOVEMBER
A fancy for Trix
T
hree weeks after the Leipzig
exhibition modell-hobby-spiel
(www.modell-hobby-spiel.de,
October 02 to 04, 2015), the
next item on the calendar is the
Modellbau Exhibition in Vienna,
Austria from October 23 to 26, 2015. On presenta-
tion of their Club card, members pay only 9 instead
of 13 euro entrance. A short time later, Faszination
Modellbau opens from October 30 to November 1,
2015 in Friedrichshafen. Naturally Trix will be there
on the Märklin stand. Apart from models, there
will be plenty of layouts and accessories on show
at the Lake Constance exhibition. Club members
pay 10 instead of 13 euro entrance here. The show
is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday
until 5:00 p.m. (www.faszination-modellbau.de).
In Stuttgart the N-Club International is celebrating
the 10th European N-Scale Convention with
a modular layout 800 m (875 yards) long at Modell
Süd 2015 (November 19 to 22, 2015, opening times:
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., information: www.messe-
stuttgart.de/modell). For the first time guided tours
will also be offered, for which those interested
should register (see page 11). Naturally Trix will also
be represented here with a large stand; in addition
to many models in showcases, there will be running
on several layouts. For Club members a visit will be
well worth while for two reasons: the Minitrix Club
model for 2016 will be launched (see box below).
With the Club card, members also have reduced
entrance charges to Modell Süd – they pay 11
instead of 13 euro for the pleasure.

Curtain up! for the Club model 2016
The Modell Süd exhibition in Stuttgart with the European N-Scale
Convention for N-gaugers from all over Europe has become a fixture
in the calendar of meets. The spectacle of the many modules and the
good ambience has over the years developed an enormous attraction.
And since Minitrix is there where the market is, Modell Süd has also de-
veloped into a calendar fixture for Minitrix. This is why Minitrix Product
Manager Claus Ballsieper uses this unique stage to introduce the 2016
Club model – as a hand-finished prototype fresh from Development.
Many Club members have already taken the opportunity to look at and
examine the exclusive locomotives such as the Minitrix Club model
18 612 (2013), the V 200.1 (2014) and the 78 1001 (2015).

Good news for all Club members: The class 18.5 H0
Club model (Trix item 22880) and the matching Express
Passenger Car Set (Märklin item 42259) have all been
delivered from the factory to retailers. If you have
ordered the exclusive beauty, you can experience her
many technical highlights on your own layout at home.

With H0 personnel: The filigree-designed 18 537 in metal is
accompanied by figures of an engineer and a fireman.
At the start: Model railroaders to the north of Celle, Germany have now found-
ed a new round table in Unterlüss, Germany – the “Metronom“ runs here.
Two new Trix round tables
at once
The list of Trix round tables continues to grow. In the vicinity
of Unterlüss on the high-speed line between Hannover and
Lüneburg, Germany, Georg Stumm and Thomas Pirch have
founded a model railroadersmeet (see page 17). And Gerhard
Elwert is starting an N-gauge round table in the Baden-Baden
catchment area – anyone interested should apply to Gerhard

12th Trix model railroad meet
Once a year in Munich, Germany it’s all about Minitrix,
Trix Express and Trix H0. On Sunday, October 18, 2015
superb models, layouts, dioramas and accessories will
be shown, along with 80 years of Trix Express will be
duly celebrated in the community center in Gräfelfing,
Germany at Bahnhofplatz 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Admiration and talking shop is expressly desired. Further

Event: Apart from this Trix C-track layout there are many
other gems to admire at the model railroad meet.
Berlin exhibition:
80 years of Trix Express
Around 30 historic layouts and display cabinet exhibits in various
gauges will be on view on October 24/25, 2015 (from 10:00 a.m.)
at the historic Model Railway Exhibition with European partici-
pation in Berlin. “We are celebrating the 80th anniversary of Trix
Express; it was in 1935 that AC models of this brand were on
public show for the first time, at the Leipzig Spring Fair”, says
Dieter Weissbach, a member of the Trix Express Freunde Berlin (Trix
Express Friends Berlin). “We want to celebrate this birthday with a
two-day exhibition, not restricted to Trix Express railroads but in-
cluding other brands and gauges for purposes of direct comparison.
This way, general development of model railroads can be seen”.
