elcome to the September edition.
This issue is a firm favourite with
our designers as they get to research
what trends made it onto the London, Milan
and New York catwalks in the spring for the
Autumn Winter 2016/17 season.
It’s always interesting to see what the
trends are and how they fi lter down
to the clothes and accessories we
see on the high street as the
season rolls around. The trends
reflected a glamorous style with
a little femininity, a profusion of
embellishments, such as sequins and
sparkles, and a punky, slightly grungy
vibe. Oversized pearls featured in
jewellery, along with baroque fi ligree
statement pieces.
When it comes to the projects in
MJ
our
designers have a free hand to decide how they
want to interpret their ideas. My favourite
thing in this issue is one of the simplest designs
we have had in the magazine for a while – but
oh so wearable! I’m talking about the Noodle
Doodle project (p9) by Tansy Wilson. I just love
the long noodle beads – they make gorgeous
necklaces and bracelets in minutes that look
really professional.
Whether you are a noodle bead fan like me,
love to play with clay (polymer or metal) or
simply adore seed beads then you’ll fi nd
something here to take your fancy and keep
you busy all month!
