They ran a hard-fought campaign to win
the hearts and minds of the public and
industry leaders; made numerous tempting
promises of ‘what will be’, and were definitely
not shy about singing the praises of both
British ingenuity and the benefits of a united
Europe. Now, all that hard work is about to
pay off. Five years after their success in 2010,
a dedicated and passionate team, united under an iconic blue
banner, are once again destined to make a return to a certain
London address.
No, I am not taking about the Tory return to No 10; I am, of
course, talking about the team of organisers and volunteers that
have spent years preparing the latest London International stamp
exhibition, London 2015: Europhilex. Organised to mark the 175th
anniversary of the Penny Black—the British invention that swept the
world—and with events spanning into Europe, London 2015—the
15th International Exhibition hosted in London—makes a return to
the British Design Centre in Islington.
Five years after the success of London 2010, will Europhilex live
up to its promises by providing another world-class experience for
collectors? It is certainly looking that way. As I write, there are only a
few days left before the doors open on the four-day event and from
