Once more, from the top!
It’s showtime!
Here we are, together again in our little
corner of the hobby, with another look at the cool cars, trucks,
and motorcycles we’ve seen at shows across the country and
around the world during the past year.
As you check out the images of all the terrific models,
take a moment to thank all of the hard-working, often
anonymous people who put so much time and effort into
making these shows possible. Many clubs and individuals
make significant sacrifices of time and money to put on these
events. Setup and teardown alone is a time-consuming,
thankless job; let alone finding affordable venues, handling
entry fees, buying or making awards, designing and
distributing flyers so people know all about the shows – the
list goes on and on.
It’s easy to complain if the venue is too hot or too
cold, or the judges
clearly
overlooked The Greatest Model of
All Time. It’s much harder to put on a group effort to make a
bunch of modelers happy.
Thanks to all of the men and women who work so
hard for our enjoyment. I’ll see you at the shows!

“I like being dirty,” says Mike Frederick about building this 1932 Ford diorama.
The front bumper is scratchbuilt, and some engine parts and the tires are aftermarket items.
George Hunter’s Revell 5-Window Deuce Coupe has a channeled body,
348 Chevy engine, and quick-change rear end. “I wanted to build a late-
1950s hot rod like I see in
The Rodder’s Journal,”
he says.
“I just wanted to build a 4x4,” says Terry Musher about why he chose
to build this Revell Jeep Rubicon. It has a scratchbuilt roll bar, and the
finish is spray-can paint.
“It was a brainstorm,” says Ed Jablonski about this weathered
Morningstar Farms Revell 1940 Ford.
“I love motorcycles,” says Steven P. Baum, who built this Bone Daddy
Custom Chopper from a Revell kit.
