I can’t believe it has already been a
year, but it’s that time again folks!
Our second annual swimsuit ef-
fort is underway, and we couldn’t
be more excited. I mean, how can
you not love swimwear? Putting
on the bikini or trunks means the
weather is warm, pools and lakes
and rivers are crowded, and a stroll
across any coastline will yield a
better vista then looking at lonely
seagulls on a cold beach fighting
over a beached porpoise! It’s a
summer party for the eyes, and
we’re giving you a taste of it right
here in the pages of Snap Matter.
As many of our readers already
know. Our original intention for
last year’s swimsuit edition was
to create one magazine with the
ultimate quality images of all sub-
missions making it into a book no
larger than 60 pages. However...
we quickly found ourselves inun-
dated with over 1000 individual
submissions. As a remote pub-
lished periodical, we realized
how boring it would be to make
an over-bloated magazine with
minimal editorial. We also real-
ized the power and control re-
mote publishing gave us, and we
decided to break up the edition
V
in multiple volumes, so as not to
overwhelm the reader along with
providing a minor sense of antici-
pation to those looking forward
to rapidly following volumes. It
turned out to be a huge success,
so we’re doing it gain this year!
All 2012 Volumes will be rela-
tively simple in form. Since we
are keeping the volumes small and
tidy, we are minimizing editorial
and providing full-page images as
much as possible. All Volumes
will be dispersed weekly through-
out the month of August. You’ll
note that I have not mentioned
how many Volumes we will be
publishing this year. Last year
we did four. Depending on the
quality of images still coming in,
maybe, just maybe, we might do
five this year, but that remains
uncertain at this particular time.
Thanks to everyone who sub-
mitted images. If you submitted,
and don’t see your image(s) in
this volume, remember -- there
are more Volumes coming soon.
If your image(s) don’t make it
into any of the 2012 Volumes,
we encourage you to keep try-
ing for future opportunities.
