<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> you can order it from CMD.
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> Ahh, Ill look around for it... I use 30120's a bunch in
programming... (I know it cant be DLed) I have a prg to convert mus to 30120
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Hiya Tim! :D
<[Tim 520 ST] T.EMRICH1> Hi Bruce...
<J.ROY18> Tim!
<[Jon 1040STe] J.ROY18> was <J.ROY18>.
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> CMD sells the book/disk combination for $22.95.
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> The other thing i do is run my c-64 as a voice mail for my
line.... any one know of others who do this?
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> If you want to order the set, you can call CMD at
1-800-638-3263. :)
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> thanks Bruce
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> I've never heard of that Jeff! Neat idea!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Hiya Bill! :)

<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> it works really well, I don't know how i lived without it.
<C128-BILL> Hi Bruce! Music and SID stuff! ;)
<[Tim 520 ST] T.EMRICH1> is it ILLEGAL to digitize copyright music??
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> I have uploaded some metal myself... Yngwie Malmsteen.
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> only to a certain extent
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Tim, I guess the answer is lies in what ya do with it....
<[Tim 520 ST] T.EMRICH1> Well what if you uploaded them to a BBS??
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> I use some digitized stuff on my voice mail (currently
some dead) but it changes, i assume thats only marginally illegal
<[Jon 1040STe] J.ROY18> There is alot of digitized music in the ST RT...
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> I am not an expert on this.. and ya need an expert
opinion if yer concerned... but brief excerpts are probably dealt with
differently than the whole song.
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> Is master composer in PD?
<[Jon 1040STe] J.ROY18> (I was going to digitize some songs and stuff.... I
can't UL them legally, although other songs are already up here?)
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> A poor 64 runs out of memory before ya digitize too much!
<[Tim 520 ST] T.EMRICH1> Well Jon...if you go to the pay side of GEnie and
type say 'notify j.roy18' it will say either J.roy18 is not online or it will
say 'Notify Text?' and you will type the message in...
<[Jon 1040STe] J.ROY18> I thought that was removed... Wow! I'll remember!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> HAs anyone here tried to do their own SID arranging?
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> I've got Kung Fu Fighting for the 64 from here, its GREAT..
i don't have the cash either
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> I've done some composing on MCS but not a sid
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Jeff... Master Composer does some fine work! Most folks
do SIDs now though.. more versatie.
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> Bruce, if on my machine, I have it answer the phone with a
few bars off of a SID song, do i have to credit chamberin somehwere?
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Brad, have ya gotten a Stereo Cart yet?
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> The Stereo Cartridge is probably the most dramatic add on
to a 64 for the money!
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> AHEM!!! what is the facial symbol (ie :) ) for smoking a
acigarette? I know there is one casue I've seen it, but i don't remember
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Not only can you play all the stereo files, but also the
3 voice SIDs sound much better! :)
<BRAD-HARRIS> I brought my boom box home from work, and have it hooked up to
the Commodore.
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> In addition to having more channels....
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> you can also set it to DELAY the right channel...
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> that causes a reverb effect. :)
<BRAD-HARRIS> I like the cartridge too - even though I've soldered the
occasional chip, I still get nervous whenever I need to do it.
<C128-BILL> There ya go!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> :D
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Jeff.. StereoPlayer will call it automatically at DE00.
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> can I call it indirectly? and what is an auto steno
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Jeff.. I don't know that the details to call the chip are
available...
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> How did you get the Spanish exclamation point
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> The chips addition was designed by Mark Dickenson...
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> ark wrote the StereoPlayer program to play it back....
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> I'm not aware of him ever giving out the details of HOW to
address the chip. :)
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> Hmmm, cool
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> However yo add stereo, by adding the chip yourself...
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> r by adding a cartridge...
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> I'll guarantee you won't regret it! :)
<BRAD-HARRIS> I'll second that!
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> Well, im afraid that i wont want to put much more cash
into the 64... Im happy with my new laptop. The 64 id s just an answering
 machine
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Jeff, okay... but.. there is a musical world you are
missing that would startle the average PC user! :D
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> In fact....
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> It offers two more voices than an Amiga! ;D
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> no kidding, it is a musical machine, i occasionally have
interludes available on the mailbox
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Welcome to the Music RTC!
<[shalom] T.SAVAGEAU1> thanks,
<[Hank] H.MUDGE> Just eves dropping
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Well, eaves droppers MORE than welcome!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> We were talking about the advantages of adding a stereo
cart for 3 more voices!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> The Commodore can make some pretty amazing music with 3
voices...
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Anyone who has downloaded the brilliant SIDs here on GEnie
can attest to that..
<[Tom] T.ADAMS18> Not happy with CMD. Mailed a money order 3/26 but they
haven't gotten it as of today :(
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> ut the addition of 3 more voices, really makes it amazing!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Tom.. have you called them up to find out if there is a
problem?
<[Tom] T.ADAMS18> Called them this evening and they said they haven't seen the
money order for the stereo cart :(
<BRAD-HARRIS> and I don't know if controllers or I/O ports are onboard or not.
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> I had the same problem with a ram-link
<[Hank] H.MUDGE> Tom was it a Postal Money Order-- If so call your Post Office
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Tom... I'll call them tamer also and see if I can find
out anything.. if they are backlogged or whatever, I'll EMAIL you if I
learn anything.
<BRAD-HARRIS> Ramlink was another story - they started taking orders on that
long before they even began to make them.
<[Tom] T.ADAMS18> OK Bruce
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> Yeah I found that out upon delivery, about 2 months later...
 complete with 5 megs
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> (2 of which were free for the delay)
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> But you'll be happy when you DO get it Tom, if that is any
consolation.
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> I have found them to be very fair.
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> Yep, I thought so
<[Tom] T.ADAMS18> Patience was never my strong suit.
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> There hard drives are a bit costly thou... especially
compared to 9090's
<BRAD-HARRIS> Don't feel bad Jeff - I ordered mine last September, got it last
month.
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Understood!:)
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> I am hoping to run classes here on how to make SIDs
sometime...
<[Hank {YR}] H.MUDGE> I think I will leave also
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Need to find a group of folks interested and then we'll
give it a shot! :)
<[Tom] T.ADAMS18> Yea Jeff and hows the 1200 modem doing'?
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> Hey Tom! I need your address ASAP!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> The SID libraries here are filled with great music...
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Library 16 is for classical sids....
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> 17 is ROCK!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> and 18 is for general music types....
<[Jeff] J.BURCHELL> thanks
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> there has been a little blurring of those lines.. so I'd
suggest ya check out each of them....
<R.KIRK7> Do I have to wait to send or can it take my comments anytime?
<[Tom] T.ADAMS18> Thought it was 10 like the others ... forgot :(
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> RK, just jump right in! :)
<R.KIRK7> Is anyone using Wizard 64 and had a problem with it jumping out of
itself?
<C128-BILL> Re-boots back to Basic?
<R.KIRK7> yes
<C128-BILL> If your seeing that, then the new version will fix that problem.
It did that when Wizard saw a special Control Code.
<C128-BILL> The new version will be up soon, I hope! ;)
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> YAY!!! :D
<C128-BILL> In Beta Test, now in fact!
<R.KIRK7> when is the new version coming for the C-64
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> WIZARD is a terrific terminal.. with a few problems
corrected it will be fantastic!
<C128-BILL> As soon as it's out of beta, R.K.
<R.KIRK7> I concur about Wizard. tonight is my first use of it-great
<C128-BILL> Glad you like it.... for a 34 cent download cost at 2400 baud...
ya can't beat the price!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> RK, Welcome to Wizard! :D
<[Tom] T.ADAMS18> Was crowded for awhile
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Down to the hard-core SID folks now! ;D
<C128-BILL> Heh...
<C128-BILL> SID is fun, thanx for getting me into it, Bruce!
<[Tom] T.ADAMS18> Fast becoming a SID junkie :) I really want my stereo cart!!!!
<[Bruce] WHOLE.NOTE> Tom, L...
