The
Authors

There
are
three
of
us.
Harvard
Pennington,
Gary
Camp
and
Ralph
Burris.
We
have
been
around
since
the
early
days
of
Radio
Shack's
entry
into
the
computer
field.
All
three
of
us
got
oiir
first
TRS-80
computer
in
early
1978;
a
TRS-80
Model
I.
We
met
as a
result
of
our
TRS-
80s.
At
the
time,
the
power
of
the
Model
I
computer
was
beyond
our
wildest
dreams.
A
complete
computer
that
would
fit
into
our
pocket
was
just
too
incredible
to
think
about,
let
alone
dream
about.
was
a
total
lack
of
information
about
our
computers.
K
we
needed
to
know
anything,
it
was up
to
us
to figure
it
out
for
ourselves.
It
wasn't
anybody's
fault
that
there
wasn't
any
information,
it
was
just
the
way
things
were
at
the
time
there
was
no
'computer
industry' as
there
is
today.
In
those
'early'
days
there
—
As
time
passed,we
all
grew-up,
so
to
speak,
on
our
TRS-80S.
Each
of
us
became,
as
they
say,
computer
literate
and
in
time
became
fairly
well
known
in
the
'TRS-80
world.'
When
Radio
Shack
announced
the
first
PC,
the
PC-1
Pocket
Computer,
there
was
a
whole
family
of
TRS-80
s.
The
Model
I,
Model
II
and
Model
III
and
now
a
complete
computer
that
would
fit
in
your
pocket.

—
The
incredible
power
of
this
first
pocket
computer
was
almost
too
much
to
comprehend.
Then
along
came
the
next
generation,
the PC-2, an
even
more
powerful
pocket
computer,
with
possibly
the
niftiest
printer
we
have
ever
seen.
Each
of
us
already
had
one
family
of
computers.
or
more
Radio
Shack
computers
—
and
we
had
all
written
a
book,
articles,
software
or
documentation
for
software
packages
that
ran
on
the
When
we
were
asked
to
write
"Getting
Started
on
the
TRS-80
PC-2"
...
we
jumped
at
the
chance.
Here
was
an
opportunity
addition
to
the
in
to
be
paid
while
we
learned
about
the
latest
and
greatest
TRS-80
TV
type
video
display,
our
pocket.
And
were
we
amazed!
With
the
exception
of
disk
files
and
a
it
was
almost
Hke
having
a
TRS-80
Model
III
computer
that
would
fit
family.
"Getting
Started
on
the
PC-2"
is
the
result
of
our
latest
love
affair
with
a
Radio
Shack
this,
computer.
We
hope
you
enjoy
reading
